Words From the Soul

About

PegRoberts

There is something magical about putting words down on paper. Whether it is a letter, a poem, a story, or a journal entry, sharing your thoughts with yourself or others is a wondrous way to communicate. Writing is truly a gift we give ourselves. Think of the joy and pleasure you have gained from your favorite authors.

Although writing has been a huge part of my life, intuitive writing is a gift that came to me later in life. At first, I had no idea what it was. I didn’t understand the source of the words I wrote. When I read what I had written, it made no sense to me. I was encouraged to share my writings, but I was reluctant to do so.

The words I wrote did have meaning to the few people with whom I finally shared them.  Eventually, when I reread my writings, the meaning was clearer to me. As my comfort level grew, I began to understand that my writing might be helpful to others.

The words I hear come from deep within my soul and occasionally from other souls. Sometimes I just sit, listen, and write down what I hear. At other times, I ask a question. When I do, I never get the answer I expect. The message is often more profound than any thoughts I might have.

When I first started writing for other people, I was concerned they might not connect with words that came to me.  Occasionally, I do not know the person for whom I’m writing, but the words always seem to be what they need.  I have especially enjoyed writing for my grandchildren. Just as each of them is different, the writing for each of them has been different, too.

Being a Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner and a Reiki Master helps me connect to the energy within me. Channeling these energies to myself and others allows me to be in a special space. I believe that being in touch with that energy also helps my writing.

Ever since I was a child, I have had words in my head. In college, creative writing was my favorite class. Professionally, my positions as a teacher, a program director and school administrator, all involved writing. My repertoire included newsletters, grants, manuals, program development and public relations.

I’ve been a New England girl nearly all my life, having grown up and lived in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.  I recently moved back to my home town and it really did feel like I was coming home. I also enjoy a few months each year in Florida. While writing is my passion, I’m also an avid reader and sudoku solver.  Other activities I enjoy include photography, gardening, cooking, playing mahjongg, knitting and, of course, spending time with my family and friends.
